Dear MMSA Families, Students and Staff,
On Monday, June 28th, The MMSA school board discussed the reopening plans for the 2021-2022 academic year.
The school board decided to have our students and staff return full-time, 5 days a week in-person with masks required this fall.
Face coverings will be required in the school building as well as on the buses. Masks will not be required outdoors or while individuals are eating or drinking.
While in the building, students and staff will practice 3-feet physical distance. We will continue practicing our cleaning protocols. We will have additional cleaning staff in the building, and high-contact areas will be cleaned regularly throughout the day.
MMSA will not offer virtual options for students, therefore we expect all of our students to attend in-person each day.
After more than a year, we will resume our after-school activities, tutoring, clubs, and athletics as we normally do. More information will be shared soon regarding exact details and offerings.
Students participating in outdoor sports will not be required to wear a mask. For indoor sports, masks will not be required while students are competing, but masks will be required while not competing (e.g., while sitting on the bench). Masks are required during P.E class.
COVID-19 vaccines are available for everyone age 12 and older and the vaccine has been shown to be highly safe and effective. We encourage you to have all members of your family over age 12 vaccinated. For more information on vaccinations, visit the Milwaukee Health Department COVID-19 web page.
We will continue following DPI, CDC, and Milwaukee Health Department’s guidelines therefore, our reopening plan may change based on their recommendations.
