30 students were selected to attend an interactive workshop that examined issues of prejudice and exclusion and explored ways to overcome community divisions locally and globally.
As the first field trip to launch the schools new club SJCL (Students for Justice and Community Leadership), MMSA was well represented as our students participated in role plays, created hashtags for peace and respect with other middle and high schools, and discussed ways to make Milwaukee a better place.
Our students stole the spotlight by asking all the questions, reflecting in front of a large crowd and giving the whole room a personal dance performance (Davison Pickett and Jahquan hall). Serve 2 Unite commended mmsa for their behavior and leadership and even interviewed some of our students. It was an amazing opportunity for all.
