433 Canned Goods Donated by Inner City Milwaukee Students

Students from Milwaukee Math and Science Academy donate food to the Salvation Army. Milwaukee, WI- Students from Milwaukee Math and Science Academy, located at 110 W. Burleigh Street, are in the giving spirit this holiday season. Students were challenged to help others by bringing in canned goods for the Salvation Army. The 230 inner city students rose to the occasion and brought in 433 canned goods. Physical Education teacher Erin Schuldt, who organized the food drive, said “I am not surprised by the generosity of our students; they understand what it means to be in need and want to help families like their own.”  The food drive is an effort to enforce MMSA’s vision for students, teachers, and families to engage in the community and develop character to enhance students’ academic success.Milwaukee Math and Science Academy provides students in grades K-5 with a high-quality, college preparatory curriculum with increased student expectations.
